This explains what information Solve My Website collects, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short and in plain English. If anything is unclear, email [email protected].
Who we are
Solve My Website builds and looks after websites for small and local businesses. For data-protection purposes we are the data controller for the information described here. Contact: [email protected].
What we collect
- Details you give us: your name, business name, current website address, phone or email, the answers in your brief, and any photos or files you upload.
- Basic technical information your browser sends when you use the site (for example IP address and pages viewed), used to keep the site running and secure.
Why we use it
- To build your free preview and, if you go ahead, your website.
- To contact you about your brief, preview and account.
- To run, secure and improve our own site.
Our lawful bases are: taking steps at your request and performing our contract with you; our legitimate interest in running the service; and, where it applies, your consent.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with the suppliers that run the service for us, such as our hosting, email and payment providers, and only so they can do that job. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we are providing the service to you and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner (see your rights).
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email [email protected] and we will sort it. If you are unhappy, you can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
We use only the cookies and similar storage needed to make the site work. We do not use them to track you across other websites.
